Luz Macias entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2013, at the near age of 106. Adored mother of Luz Ramos (Demetrio), Carmen Landeros (Moises), Maria Islas (Alberto). Predeceased by daughter Socorro Rios. Affectionately known to all as Mama Luz, she had 27 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 35 great, great grandchildren. Mama Luz was born February 9, 1907 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico and immigrated to the United States in 1962. She sometimes spoke of her childhood and her father's experiences during Pancho Villa's Revolutionary War in Mexico. The family expresses its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Golden Living Center in caring for Mama Luz. Appreciation is also extended to the St. Joseph's Memorial Hospice and Memorial Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 8400 Old Redwood Highway, Windsor. Interment, Santa Rosa Memorial Park, Santa Rosa. A Rosary/Vigil will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 208 Matheson Street, Healdsburg, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Daniels Chapel of the Roses (707)525-3730
