Madeline Dean Obituary

Entered into rest, September 29, 2010 in Sebastopol, CA. Madeline now reunites with her beloved husband, Edward H. Dean and son, Richard Dennis Dean. She is survived by her five children, ten grandchildren and three great grand children. Additionally there are over fifty nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her kindness, thoughtfulness and wry little smile. A native of New York, age 88 years. Madeline was a painter, bird watcher and avid golfer. She was very active in the Oakmont community, serving as Captain of the Niners Club as well as a Lector at Star of the Valley Church. All who knew her are deeply saddened by her passing. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Star of the Valley Catholic Church (545 White Oak Drive, Santa Rosa [Oakmont], CA, 95409). Private interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95405). LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 94509) will provide visitation hours on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where at 7:00 p.m. evening Vigil Rites will be celebrated in the main chapel. As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions in Madeline's memory be made to the charity of the donor's choice. An amazing life spanning East Coast to West, raising six kids covering many years, an interesting person with a wicked sense of humor. I knew Maddie for over 30 years, golfed with her, birded with her, enjoyed her art work and her egg plant marinara. She is missed by many but at peace now.
