Mario went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He is lovingly survived by his wife Lora Chitwood; his mother Thelma Amante and husband Joe Pike and his father Russell Chitwood, Sr.; adored children Burt, Deanna, Mario, Jr., Lanette, Kimmie, Macey, Anthony and Elena; 12 grandchildren; brothers and sisters Pete, Russell, Jr., Delbert, Geraldine, Teresa, Liz, Karen, Pamela and the late Tony; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A native of Santa Rosa and a lifelong resident of Sonoma County, Mario was a proud Native American member of the Dry Creek Rancheria. He was a die-hard Raider fan, and enjoyed playing softball. A person who loved the Lord, he enjoyed trips to the ocean and had a "green thumb" that made anything he planted grow. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 1620 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, followed by burial at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA. Daniels Chapel of the Roses 525-3730
