Marylan Uchytil Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, "Toots," great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend, left this life on December 4, 2010 to be at peace after a long illness. She was born on April 20, 1936, to Mary Wanda and Robert Drury in Eugene, Oregon. Marylan is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 54 years, Ron Uchytil. They were married on September 2, 1956, at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Rosa. They raised their four children: Rhonda Darrow (Dennis) of Santa Rosa, Rick Uchytil of Santa Rosa, Randy Uchytil of Honolulu, Hawaii; and preceded in death by Russell Uchytil (Pam Uchytil-Velasquez) of Windsor. Marylan loved babysitting and was so proud of her grandchildren: Alyssa Jones (Brent) of San Diego, Jessica Uchytil of Santa Rosa, Breanna Uchytil-Moore (Ian) of San Jose, Ryan Darrow (Dianna) of San Diego, Courtney Uchytil of Chicago, Illinois, Shannon Uchytil (fiancé J.P.) of Windsor, Malia Uchytil of Santa Rosa, Zachary Uchytil of Windsor, and Caitlin Velasquez of Windsor. Her latest pride-and-joys were her three great granddaughters: Ava Carlee Gustafson of Santa Rosa, Isabella Ryann Jones and Kiersten Elizabeth Jones of San Diego. She is survived by her loving sister, Melva Donohoe (Bill Gray), of Wallport, Oregon; and three nephews: Rob, Rollan and Regan Cummins and their families of Oregon. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dorie Uchytil, of Dublin; and three nephews: Scott Uchytil and his family of Virginia, Brian Uchytil and his family of Dublin, and Mike Uchytil and his family of Livermore. She will always be remembered by her family and life-time friends as a talented cook, baker and seamstress. Her greatest joy was entertaining with all her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 1550 Pacific Avenue Santa Rosa. In Marylan's memory, make donations to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, American Diabetes Association or a hospice of your choice. SANTA ROSA MORTUARY EGGEN & LANCE CHAPEL, 545-3747

As a former teacher at Sequoia Elem. School in Rincon Valley I knew Mrs. Uchytil as a wonderful parent and grandparent. She lived her role with love and enthusiasm and it showed in her children. She was a very special person . Mary Lou Christian

I have many loving memories of Toots from the great times I visited her during the year. When I last visited her and Pops during their special days, I did not know it would be the last time I would ever see her. I loved her smiles and her sense of humor, which she kept even though she was not feeling well. She was a woman of strength. Forever she is always in my sweet memories and heart!

May her gentle soul rest in peace!
