Passed away in Santa Rosa, December 11, 2012. Dearly beloved husband of the late Mary Bassignani. Loving father of Sandra Bassignani of Santa Rosa, and the late Gary Bassignani. Adored grandfather of Tony Dixon, Victoria Ramponi, Mary Berikoff, Nick Ramponi, Bari Holland, Alex Bassignani, and Cassandra Bassignani, and great grandfather of seven. Dear brother of Peter Bassignani. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native and lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, age 100 years. Nello was an honorary member of the American Legion Post #21, where he was the leader of the Drum and Bugle Corp. He was a member of the Italian American Club, and a former member of the Sons of Italy. Nello enjoyed his monthly meetings with the West 3rd Street Gang. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses. Private inurnment, Chapel of the Chimes. Visitation will be held at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Following the Funeral Services, there will be a reception in memory of Nello at the Veterans Auditorium.
