Philip Cunningham Obituary

Born and raised in NYC, he enlisted and served in the US Navy. Upon completing service, he settled in El Sobrante, CA with his wife Barbara, his daughter Luann and son Michael. Phil was a long time volunteer fireman for the El Sobrante Fire Department. He began his career with PG&E in the Richmond Gas Division in 1964. Transferred to the Santa Rosa Gas Division in 1989, where he retired, after 41 years of service, in 2005. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.

My family and I pray that God grants you peace in this time of sorrow. Phil kept a tight ship when it came to work , at PG@E. I guess that is why we called him Captain Phil. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayer. Sincerely, Barney Avilla (Santa Rosa,Ca

Phil was a very good friend and the best co-worker one could hope for. He was always generous with his time and energy and very patient. He was a wealth of knowledge and shared this with his staff and junior employees. His dedication to his job and family was without equal. I feel privileged to have been able to know and work with Phil. He will be missed. Our prayers are with his family.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Phil. Phil always treated me with respect which made working for him very enjoyable, he went the extra mile to make sure that people who worked for him had whatever they needed to make their job more pleasant. My condolences to the Cunningham Family.
