Richard Drips Obituary

Rick passed away on September 18, 2010 at home, from complications related to a bone marrow transplant, at the age of 55. He was born in Portland, OR August 12, 1955 and moved with his family to Sonora, CA at a young age. Rick is survived by his wife Nancy; children Jerrimy, Jason, Patty, Bekki, David and Bob; grandchildren Alexis, Alani, Gabriel and Ariana. Rick is also survived by his parents Pat and Fred; brothers Bill (Brenda) Seldon and Don Seldon; his great aunt Mary; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces. Rick was a US Navy disabled veteran. He will be missed by his many friends and coworkers at Panamax in Petaluma. Rick loved fishing and spent every chance he had teaching his grandchildren the art and patience of fishing. Rick always enjoyed helping others in their time of need; he loved his time spent as a little league coach and umpire, he was one of those unique folks that embraced learning new things at every opportunity. Rick his wife and children were fortunate to purchase a small ranch outside of Petaluma in the summer of 1993 where they spent their spare time fishing at the family pond for big mouth bass, catfish, and blue gill. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Rick's life on October 16, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the family ranch. For directions call 707-763-6776. Rick - you have always been a very good friend to me! You very generously shared with me your big heart and singular points of view for over a decade, and made me feel like family. I'll keep those things close to me, good buddy.
