Robert Bertucelli Obituary

Passed away gently in his sleep on March 26, 2009 after a courageous battle with a brief illness. Bob, a longtime resident of Santa Rosa, and 30 year police veteran (7 years with Marin County Sheriff and 23 years with the City of Santa Rosa) will be missed by a long list of people whom he touched throughout his life, including his two sons, Jason of Sausalito, CA and Daniel of Santa Barbara, CA; his brother Ron of San Mateo, CA, his first wife and friend, Linda Henderson of Santa Rosa; daughter-in-law Sarah; daughter-in-law to-be Megan; his many friends to whom he was so close, and finally his two year old grandson Tanner whom he loved so dearly. Bob loved being a police officer for the city of Santa Rosa and was responsible for many acts of bravery that helped keep the citizens of Santa Rosa safe, But later in his life he found a more important love and that was of his family. I think it even amazed him how much he could love his grandson. He could always make you laugh, even when you didn't feel like it, and lit up a room when he walked into it. So here's to you dad. I hope you are teeing off on the 1st hole at Augusta right now with Jack, or landing a big salmon in Alaska with Tom. We will miss you. A Celebration of life to be announced.

Jay and Dan,
I met your dad in 1984 at SRPD. We became fast friends. We worked, played and laughed together for the next 20 years. Your father made made me laugh so many times I can't count and always made people lighten up without them even knowing it! I will miss him and will never forget him. My heart goes out to you and your families. Your dad truely loved you and was very proud his two sons.

To Bob's family, and our friends at Santa Rosa Police. I enjoyed working with Bob in the past, as many of us did, but it was his great personality that shined as bright as his star. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Respectfully, Ralph Pata, San Rafael Police.

To Bob's family and many friends,
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who loved him. He was a fantastic man. When I found out of his passing his smiling face popped into vision. He always had a story or a joke to keep all of us laughing. Bob had a heart of gold.
Blessings to all of you.

I will never forget when Bob played a Press Democrat reporter during a Hostage Negotiations scenario a few years back. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life! One of the truly greatest Officers I have worked with at SRPD!

To Bob's family and friends:

When you look up at the sky at night and see the stars, remember this Eskimo legend:

Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through, to shine down upon us to let us know they are happy.

God Bless you all.

My Grandmother and Bobby's Grandmother Chris were sisters. I grew up with Bobby visiting my Grandparents ranch. We always got in trouble for making a mess. We kept in touch throughout the years and especially when he lived in Reno. Time flies and last time I talked to him was right after his trip to Italy.
He was a great friend and I felt like I knew you all through his constant talk of his children and Tanner. I am so sorry that he went so quickly. Please tell me when you have his memorial. [email protected]

Bob was a really special guy. I had the chance to work alongside him a couple of times at the SRPD substation when he returned part time. He could tell a story! I was always amazed at the things he experienced in life. Like being dropped off from the hospital after heart surgery and trudging through the snow to get home.

I hardly knew him and I know the void he left is large. My prayers are with his family and friends.
