Passed away on March 27, 2014 at the age of 84. Roberta was born at Hillside Hospital in Petaluma on April 25, 1929 and remained in Petaluma her whole life. During high school she was a waitress at L&M Drug fountain, then worked for Chandler's Dairy and went on to be a telephone operator in Petaluma for 10 years, and later she was an office clerk for Rancho Cotate High School where she retired from after 18 years. In 1976 Roberta was very proud to be awarded "Woman of the Year" by Mayor Putnam. Roberta kept busy enjoying her retirement and her many friends. She loved to enter her crocheting and baked goods in the Sonoma County Fair and won many ribbons. She is survived by her son, Wayne Anderson and wife Judy, daughter, Kathy Czahar; grandchildren, Tom Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Megan Czahar, David Czahar and Lindsey Czahar; sister, Phyllis Garner plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley L. Anderson and her sister, Betty Hagedon. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy, Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private inurnment, Cypress Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952.
