Ruth Henderson Obituary

Born on March 14, 1919, passed away on Wednesday November 10, 2010 at the Ukiah Health Care facility. Ruth was born in Salt Lake City Utah and moved to San Francisco as a young child. She graduated from Balboa High School, married William Manning Henderson Jr. in the summer of 1938 and later moved to Sunnyvale to raise a family. Ruth was a resident of Ukiah for well over 30 years but she often reminisced about earlier times, in the mid 20's, when she spent her summer vacations with "Aunt Lila" on Grove Street. It may, in fact have been there, on that very street where she acquired her love of sports. It started with tennis but blossomed into the major leagues whenever the Giants, 49'ers, or the Raider's were playing. She will always be remembered as kind, generous, and loving survived by: son, William Manning Henderson III, and grandson, William Manning Henderson IV; daughter, Arleen Keefe, and granddaughter, Heidi Lynn Keefe grandson, Timothy Patrick Keefe; and great granddaughters, Megan Jean Keefe and Amanda Lynn Keefe. I'm real sorry to hear about Ruth. I really liked her and Bill her husband who passed away sometime ago. I am a house painter and I started painting for them a good twenty years or more ago. I always had fun when I worked for them. They both loved sports and her love and caring affection for her husband, especially after he had a stroke was a special thing to watch. She worked with him at the health club helping him to recover and get better. I will miss her and those times that I got to work for them. I was always invited to drop by any time to say hi. She was a special lady.
