It is with great sorrow and sadness that our wonderful Dad, Papa, Great grandpa Sam Huck, "Squeak" passed away on March 20, 2013 at the age of 83 to join his loving wife Betty. Sam had been a lifelong Sebastopolian, born in his family home on South Main Street, that was built in 1896. Sam was proud and honored to have served in the US Marine Corp. Sam took such pride in his work as a plumber, which he enjoyed doing for over 50 years (Local 38). He loved bragging about all the places he had worked on, Memorial Hospital, Petaluma Post Office, and Konocti Harbor Inn Resort to name a few. Sam loved nothing better than hopping in his maroon colored '53 Chevy pick-up and tooling around town to run all his errands. He was an awesome gardener, and always produced a bounty of veggies, stunning roses, and beautiful lilacs. Sam was an avid 49ers and Giants fan, and loved settling in on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy a good game. He was passionate about his lifelong membership with the NRA, and enjoyed many years of trap shoots, competition shoots, and loading his own shells. He was so proud of his family, and was always looking forward to the next occasion for some good old home cooking and family time. He loved trips to Bodega bay, the river, and trips up to River Rock for some Black Jack. Sam was so proud of his four kids, daughters, Kathleen (Henry) Sneed, Darlene Harner, sons Steve and Kelly. His five grandkids, Jason and Dustin Sneed, Kevin and Nolan Huck, Nikki (Landen) Coffey, and his greatest joy of all, living long enough to be GREAT GRANDPA to four great grand kids, Sophia and Rya Sneed, and Derik and Kylee Sneed. He also leaves behind his adopted daughter Shay, sister-in-law Christina Swanson, numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at PLEASANT HILLS MEMORIAL PARK AND MORTUARY, 1700 Pleasant Hill Rd., Sebastopol. Online condolences may be sent to In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sam's name to the Diabetes Foundation.
