Steven Edelson Obituary

Steve died suddenly while vacationing on the beach in Costa Rica, sitting in the shade of an almond tree, playing his guitar. He was born in Miami Beach, FL, raised in New York, and graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia. The bay area became his home in the late 1960's, he was a long-time resident of Black Point, in Novato. Steve worked for 27 years as a psychiatric counselor at Marin General Hospital. He retired 12 years ago, and was living his bliss. He was an avid guitarist, passionate about his music. He and his companion, Marsha, loved to travel, and they had extensive and numerous trips and adventures. Steve was a shy man at the peak of his life, personally, spiritually, and musically. He is survived by his life companion, Marsha Wachs, of Cotati, his son, Noah Edelson of Berkeley, his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Dale Wetmore of Massachusetts, his niece, Jill Wetmore of Massachusetts, his nephew, Michael Wetmore of Maryland, his dear long time friends Michael and Susan Astor of New York and Fred Bissell and Karen Klink of Colorado, and Boyd Bel and Judy Wachs, of Cotati. A vast number of friends and fellow musicians will also miss his gentle soul. A celebration of Steve's life is being planned for early November. Play on, dear Steve.

10 years since you left. I enjoyed playing music with you and traveling with you.
If you were around today I’d tell you I’m thinking of buying a Telecaster previously owned by Noel Redding.
I think you would tell me to get a good guitar, life is short. Don’t get caught up in Noel Redding. It doesn’t matter who owned it before . Get a good guitar. Life is precious.
