Steven Gillum Obituary

Lived a life that bespoke of laughter, love, and plain brilliance... he was beautiful, the absolute cream of the crop. Steven left us at the too young age of 62 on November 6, 2010. He had a zest for life and passions abound: photography, camping, abalone diving, humor from all avenues, and of course his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Musette; two daughters, Shyla Gillum and Tessa (Kevin) Doody; sister, Dolores Gillum; five grandchildren: Nyssa, Nova and Shasta Oru, and Steven and Fiona Doody. A proud addition to the human race has left us; he will be hugely missed and forever remembered with love. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at PLEASANT HILLS MEMORIAL PARK, 1700 Pleasant Hill Rd., Sebastopol - (707) 823-5042.

To Steve's Family - How lucky you all were, and all are, to have him and each other. At his service the speaker said he is still with you in love and I believe that to be true. And I echo everyone's sentiments from Fireman's Fund - thank you, Steve, for your graciousness and all your help.

I am stunned to have gotten the news that we have lost Steve.
I remember Steve as such a loving husband and father and a wizzard at work. We spent some wonder times together including the both of you standing up for Neil and I at our wedding. Musette, I send my love to you, Shila, Tessa and all your family.

I'm so sorry to hear that this wonderful, funny, gracious person is no longer in this life. He was extremely witty, constantly talking about his family including his wonderful wife, Musette. I first knew him through his friends who referred to him as "normal case Gillum" - - you know who I'm talking about, don't you Wil! Although Gillum only tested for "normal case", he was anything but! He will be missed and was much admired.

To Steve's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Steve for over 10 years or should I say, his technical problem solving and expertise helped me out of plenty of jams! He was a wonderful person and met every challenge with a smile. I remember his old car, how happy he was to use the car seats his daughters gave him. I remember him sitting down in front of the green screen and working his magic. So sorry.

He did live life with laughter, love and plain brilliance, didn't he?! Such a wonderful man. I was always amazed at how he approached life, his willingness to listen, to help. He always brought laughter to the table when the subject got too serious. I will miss you Mr. Gillum. My best to your family.

Our world has lost a fine person. I met Steve during my many years at Firemans Fund Insurance Co. and he was always helpful, friendly and a truely good guy. Anytime I had a question or ran into any difficulties, he would always make time for me. My condolences to his family and his friends. He's probably smiling and telling jokes in heaven right now.

I wish more people were like him. He was a credit to the human race. Sorry to see him pass. My condolences to his family and all his friends.

Taken far too young. Must have been needed for a special project in Heaven.
