Glenda A. (Paneitz) Martin, 68, passed away on March 6, 2012 at her home in Healdsburg, CA after ten challenging months of pancreatic cancer interventions. She was born in Hermann, MO on March 25, 1943, the daughter of the late Virgil Paneitz and Lydia (Schneider) Paneitz Healer. She was a 1961 graduate of Hermann High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia, majoring in Physical Therapy. She married Jerry Martin in St. Louis, MO in December, 1966 and moved to the San Francisco Bay area in California. Anyone who met Glenda remembers her as spirited, joyous and laughing. Her friendships extended to far-flung parts of the world-Thailand, Cambodia, Bhutan, Japan, as well as from many places in this country. She cherished nature's wonders and revered precious friendships, adventuring everywhere in the world, enthusiastically finding goodness because she expected to find it. Glenda loved with a huge heart, lavishing the love unreservedly on her family and friends, but she generously reached out to the needy of the world, too often denied that kind of love. Glenda devoted many years of work to her Physical Therapy patients. However, her passion for learning and her artistic talents drew her to develop businesses in Interior Landscape and as an Interior Design Architect and Fine Art buyer. Glenda is survived by her daughter, Jessica Martin Pochan (Sebastien); an 18 month old granddaughter, Rosalie, her sister Jane Paneitz-Golas (Thaddeus) and her step-father Samuel Lloyd Healer all of California. Her son, Aaron Martin predeceased her in 2002 and her mother Lydia Healer passed away in 2011. A memorial service celebrating Glenda's life will be held in Healdsburg, CA on April 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to one of the following will be appreciated. www.pachamama.org, www.roomtoread.org, or www.kiva.org
