Born in Peoria, IL, September 1, 1928 and passed away in Petaluma, CA on Sunday, April 22, 2012. He has been a Petaluma resident for the past 64 years. Herschel served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a butcher after 42 years, last working for Lucky's. Herschel was an active member of Petaluma Golf & Country Club, Petaluma Lodge #901 BPOE and VFW Post 1929. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor "Peanuts" Adkins and is survived by several nieces and nephews. At the request of Herschel, there will be no services. He will be buried at Cypress Hill Memorial Park with his wife Peanuts. He requested that memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Hersch's life on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mister McGoo's Restaurant Petaluma. Arrangements by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY.
