Passed away in Ukiah on April 19, 2012. Jim was born May 20, 1942 in Santa Rosa, CA. He lived on Penny Island in Jenner through grammar school, where he rowed a boat across the river to attend school. In high school Jim moved to Guerneville and lived with Dr. and Mrs. Ellison to be closer to Analy High. Jim joined The United States Marine Corps where he was a truck driver, spending time in Twenty Nine Palms, CA and Okinawa, Japan. Upon his leaving the USMC. Jim moved back to Sonoma County, drove long haul trucks for Riverview Trucking, he drove log trucks out of Annapolis "Kelly Road" for H.O. Sharp and many others. Jim finished his career as an Owner/Operator driving long haul again. Jim lived for the last 20 years in Ukiah. He loved all animals big and small. Some favorite sayings "Fair to Midlin", "Evidently" and "Don't Ya Know". Preceded in death by his mom Zannette Santos, brothers Joe and Fred Santos. Survived by his children Jay Hepler, Tania Tuffy) Greene, sister Lois (Merv) Goforth, brother Dan Santos, five grandchildren and two great granddaughters. The family would like to thank Holden Street House, Ukiah Valley Medical Center and Ukiah Healthcare. No services will be held. Donations can be made to Hospice Of Ukiah.
