Died on April 19, 2012, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer with his family by his side. He was born to Robert and Edith McCaw on June 30, 1937, in San Francisco, CA. Bob grew up with his brother and three sisters in Marin County, graduating from Tamalpais HS. He then graduated from SRJC and attended Cal Poly in San Louis Obispo. After College, Bob joined the Air Force and was a Map Topography Specialist stationed at Chennault AFB in Louisiana for four years. When he returned to California he married and had one daughter, Tracie (Perry) Osborne, and three stepchildren, Melinda (Mick Erb) Montgomery, Theresa (Bill) Logan, and Michael McCaw. In 1975, he met his wife Sharlene, and they married. Bob instantly became a loving stepfather to three daughters: Jacquie (Jon) Irish, Tamara James, and Kathie (Brad) Rechin. Bob was a very loving husband, father, grandfather of 14, and great grandfather of 14. He is also survived by one sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob retired from Pomeroy after 44 years as a Master Draftsman. Some of his jobs included BART, Caltrans, San Mateo and Sunshine Skyway Bridges and Candlestick and AT&T Stadiums. Bob liked painting, sketching and photography. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and weekly travels around the Bay area. Bob and Sharlene especially enjoyed trips to Hawaii, along with many other visits to family throughout the states. Bob was an avid "49rs" and "Giants" fan, having been an athlete in high school and college himself.
