Mr. Gerald H. "Gerry" Miller of Granite Bay, CA, passed away peacefully Saturday March 31, 2012. Gerald was born in Yorktown, PA in 1923. He married his dear wife Mildred "Mickey", and they were married for almost 50 years before her passing in 1991 from breast cancer. Gerald served as a Captain the "Mighty Eighth" Army Air Corp in World War II as a B17 pilot with the 452nd Bomb Group stationed in Deopham Green in England. He flew over 20 missions over Germany before the war ended in 1945. Gerry was recalled during the Korean war where he stationed at Albrook AFB in the Panama Canal Zone, splitting his time between air traffic control duties and flying supply missions throughout Central and South America. His wife Mickey was able to join him there where they shared an apartment in the officers' quarters. After leaving the Air Force, Gerald worked in sales and marketing in the high tech industry until his retirement. Gerald is survived by his son Scott Miller, daughter Marilynn Yelland, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The world is full of great men who have accomplished tremendous feats, but none more profoundly loved than Gerry Miller: husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday May 11 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Quail Inn at the Oakmont Golf Club, 7035 Oakmont Dr. Santa Rosa, CA 95409.
