Known as "Lee", he passed away at the age of 77 on May 22, 2012 in Santa Rosa. Born in Beaufort, NC, he spent his younger years in Louisiana and served in the Marines as a Staff Sergeant. After relocating to Santa Rosa, he followed his passion to cook. As a Chef for 25 years, he was known for his ability to find new and creative ways to make healthy meals. He enjoyed restoring and selling pre 70's cars and trucks, being a "jack of all trades" and teaching his skills to others. He loved listening to New Orleans Creole and Jazz music especially at family gatherings. His strongest love was for his family, especially his wife of 48 years. His quick wit, kind heart, laughter and love will be incredibly missed. Lee is survived by his loving wife, Irene Anne Austin of Santa Rosa, their children Tina Logan, Laura Donaldson, Harold Austin and Hope Leon, grandchildren Doreen Wilkinson, Shila Leon, and Derek "DJ" Leon, great-grandchild Alex Wilkinson, son-in-law Marco Leon and son-in-law Ron Hake. A Visitation will be held at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012. Private inurnment Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Santa Rosa.
