Better known as "Jeffer", was born in Springfield, MA on November 16, 1950 to Daniel Francis and Priscille LeClerc Rene. He graduated from Framingham High School and attended UMASS, Amherst. He moved to California in 1980 and lived in Northern California until his passing July 20, 2012 after a short illness. He was surrounded by his daughters Colette and Maia and family friends. Jeff was a skilled woodworker and furniture maker whose creations can be seen around the county. After the water tub birthing of his daughters, Jeff became involved in the water birthing community in the Bay Area, building water birthing tubs and teaching families how to use them. Jeff loved music and crafted beautiful instruments throughout his life such as drums and mbiras. More recently, Jeff became active in the Redwood Empire BCA pool league. He was an avid gardener and chef. He will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his sense of humor and his sly grin. He was a mentor to many, and his words will continue to shape the lives of the people he knew. He will be greatly missed. His daughters will be hosting a celebration of Jeff's life on August 11, 2012 at 228 Carrillo Street, Santa Rosa at 3:00 p.m. For more details contact renememorial@gmail.com
