Marion passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2012. She was horse camping with her best friend Ruth Pridmore in the El Dorado National Forrest when she succumbed to respiratory failure. Marion was 63. She is survived by her former husband John Batt, her oldest son Joe Sala and grandson Chris, her daughter, Loree Tackmier and granddaughter Kate, and her youngest son Paul Sutchek and grandson Sabastian. Marion spent most of her life in Police work. She worked for over 30 years between The Marin County Sherriff, San Rafael Police, and Corte Madera Police Departments. Marion was an avid horse lover. She was a member of the Petaluma Riding and Driving Club and the Mounted Assistance Unit of Sonoma County. She enjoyed trail riding, penning, sorting, and drafting, with family and friends. Please come celebrate her life at PRDC - 1812 Skillman Lane, Petaluma, on September 30, 2012 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Please bring memories and a potluck dish to share. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donation be sent to Sonoma Action for Equine Rescue (SAFER) 825 Grand View Road, Sebastopol.
