Marie McGuinness passed away peacefully on September 6, 2012 in Santa Rosa, California at the age of 81. Marie was born in Chicago, Illinois and in the early 1980s moved to California to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Marie was a lover of music and all things children, both of which she embraced and integrated with enthusiasm in her 30 years of work as a nanny. Her grace and gift for easily soothing the weariest of children earned her the affectionate title of "Baby Whisperer." Throughout the years and in recent retirement, Marie remained in contact with all of the families whose lives she touched. She is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren all of whom will greatly miss her gentle and calming spirit. A celebration of her life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 4930 Newanga Ave. Santa Rosa, CA. on Saturday, September 15, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran or to: The Living Room, 636 Cherry St., Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
