Born in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. Clara passed away in Petaluma, CA at the age of 83 with her daughters and granddaughters at her side. The second of nine children born to Aurelia Insua, Clara Lastres came to the U.S. in 1956. She married Jean B. Zubiri and they raised two daughters in San Francisco. She was an accountant for many years for Crocker National Bank and a beloved member of the Peruvian community in the Bay Area. Clara was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her daughters, Marilu and Nancy, and her grandchildren Brenda, Oliver, Mia and Diego. A rosary will be held for her on Saturday, September 15 at 3:15 p.m. at St. James Church, 125 Sonoma Mtn. Parkway, Petaluma. A celebration of her life to be held on Sunday, October 14 at her home.
