Passed away in Santa Rosa, October 2, 2012. Dearly beloved husband of 59 years of Linda M. Cota. Loving father of Yolanda E. Cota of Santa Rosa, Rachel E. Haynes (Michael) of San Francisco, Joseph A. Cota (Arlene) of Santa Rosa, Marie E. Knowles (Mike) of Santa Rosa, Dora E. Azevedo (Rudolph) of Windsor, and Linda E. Cota of Santa Rosa. Adored grandfather of 19, and great grandfather of 17. Dear brother of Rachel Madrigal, Ruben Saldana, and Judy Silva, and the late Joe Silva and "Chito" Silva. A native of Ventura, age 80 years. Joe is a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War (21 years of service) He was a founding member and former council member of Resurrection Parish Catholic Church. An avid golfer scoring 7 holes-in-one, he is a former member of the Bennett Valley Golf Club and a former Marshall at Bodega Harbour Golf Course. A former District Manager for the Press Democrat, in his retirement Joe drove for Laidlaw Transit assisting the physically challenged. A truly dedicated family man, he will be missed and loved by all. Friends are invited to celebrate a Funeral Mass on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Resurrection Parish Catholic Church. Inurnment, Oak Mound Cemetery, Healdsburg, CA on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Rudolph Joe Cota Memorial Fund, c/o any Exchange Bank branch.
