We are deeply saddened to announce that Maxine Hunt passed away October 4, 2012 at her home in Santa Rosa. She was 90 years old. Maxine, or Mickey as she was known to her friends, was married to John Hunt for over 60 years until his passing in 2009. She is survived by her three children, Marcie, Russ, and Jim. Throughout her life, Mickey was a very loving and caring person, who always nurtured her family and friends. She and John did volunteer work at the Developmental Center in Sonoma for over ten years. She volunteered to meet with newcomers in her community and was active in various groups. She was a passionate gardener and loved her flowers, spending many hours tending her lovely garden. She was often asked to arrange flowers for special events with friends and family. Throughout their lives together, Mickey and John loved to dance, first in Portland, Oregon where they met, and later in Saratoga, California and at their local dance club in Santa Rosa. Mickey was a tap dancer in her youth and would often 'tap' her way to school. Even in her 80's she would break out a little 'tap' here and there whenever the mood grabbed her! We'll all miss her greatly. A remembrance mass will be held at the Star of the Valley Church at 545 White Oak Drive, Santa Rosa on Friday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. Family assisted by LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, Santa Rosa.
