Catherine Dieringer, aged 90, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, December 2, 2012. Catherine was born in Iola, Kansas on July 5, 1922 to Ernest and Theresa Feuerborn. She traveled with her family, in 1940, to Portland, Oregon where she met her husband of 60 years, Daniel Dieringer, now deceased. In 1956, Dan and Catherine moved their family to Sonoma County, living first in Sonoma and settling later in Santa Rosa. She loved to quilt and garnered a blue ribbon at the Sonoma County Fair. Catherine lived a life devoted to family, and was happiest with a baby on her lap. She often joked that since her dream of being a nurse never came true, she created her own center for care. Dan and Catherine lovingly brought into this world their children: Alan Dieringer (Barbara), Karen Foster (Scott, deceased), Diane Sibille (Richard), Ronnie Dieringer (deceased), Randal Dieringer (Marta), Claire Crandall (Les), Marcia Crandall (Dennis), Cynthia Dieringer, Marie Sotelo (John), Mark Dieringer (Raquel), and Annie McNeany (Joseph). She will also be missed by her grandchildren Steve LaRue (Michelle), Debbie Andrew (Bill), Denise King (Butch), Brandon Sibille (Rosanna), Elaine Dieringer (deceased), Justin Foster (Arundel), Jene Layton (Rick), Carol Stock (Ross), Emily Harrington (Kevin), Stuart Crandall (Kate), Jon Michael Sotelo, Caitlin Crandall, April Schaffer (Dustin), Julian Sotelo (deceased), Laura Crandall, Hayden Crandall (Teresa), Niles Tatton, Nicholas Sotelo (Annie), Ethan Crandall, Julia Marotte, Angel Sotelo, and Ines and Isabel Dieringer. Catherine was also blessed with 19 great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend A Funeral Mass on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1244 St. Francis Road, Santa Rosa, with committal to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa.
