Passed away in Santa Rosa, December 5, 2012, following a 16 month-long battle with cancer. She was 67. Viv was the dearly beloved wife of John W. Brundage for over 44 years. Loving mother of Jennifer Brundage of San Francisco; Matthew Brundage and his wife Nancy of Key West, FL; Christopher Brundage and his wife Annette Prinz of San Antonio, TX; and Katherine Brundage and her husband Benjamin Richards of San Francisco. Beloved "Grammy" of Kayla Rose and dear sister to Nancy Stephens of Fort Lauderdale. Viv was born in Philadelphia, PA, spent her teenaged years and young adult hood in Florida, but found her true home in California as an adult. She took great joy and pride in raising her family in San Jose for 26 years. Vivian worked as a Medical Assistant and Transcriptionist in Mountain View for eight years. However, for Vivian there was no more important career than that of being a mother. She enjoyed being an active participant in all of her children's activities, including being a Den Mother and a Troop Leader for the Scouts, and a teaching assistant. She was an excellent cook, a skilled seamstress, talented craftsperson, and avid reader and music lover. She loved travel and with her husband John visited many parts of the world, including Europe, Hawaii, Canada, and most of the lower 48 states. Vivian loved the simple things in life: being surrounded by nature, her pets, and foremost her family. She enjoyed hiking, biking, snorkeling, a good cup of tea, the Florida Gators, and watching Friday Night Mysteries with John. Viv had a wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook on life which provided her with great solace and strength during her long illness. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
