Ginny LaVine won entrance to eternal life on December 31, 2012. She passed quietly while surrounded by friends, family and compassionate caregivers at UCSF Medical Center. Ginny was born Virginia Gail LaVine on June 21, 1949 in Vallejo and spent most of her life in the Occidental area. She was a fifth-generation descendent of the Taylor family, early area pioneers. Ginny was a 1966 graduate of Analy High School, earned a BA from Sonoma State College and a MA from San Francisco State University. A Celebration of Ginny's Life is to be held at Community Church of Sebastopol, 1000 Hwy 116 N, Sebastopol on January 5 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, Be a Match, or Leukemia Society in lieu of flowers.
