Glenn L. Schrader, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday, March 18, 2013. He was born in Long Beach, CA on February 27, 1923, a son of Wilbur and Ada (Placke) Schrader. Glenn married Bennie Jeanne Griffith on May 27, 1944 in Long Beach, just before entering flight school. He served in the Army Air Corps as a 1st Lieutenant, flying B-26 Martin Marauders in the European Theater for 59 successful missions. Following the war, and after attending Long Beach State and receiving his degree from USC, Glenn worked his way up in administration at Texaco for 35 years. He was a lifelong avid L.A. Dodgers fan, playing and coaching baseball as well. He also enjoyed golf and working in the yard. During retirement, Glenn and Bennie were very active in square dancing. Glenn had a wonderful church family at The Presbyterian Church of the Roses in Santa Rosa, and many great friends and neighbors in the Oakmont community. His family expresses special thanks for the loving care and attention from the staff at Wild Rose Care Home at Quail Run. Glenn is survived by three children, Mark (Pam) Schrader of The Woodlands, TX, Paul (Marianne) Schrader of Napa, and Susan (Keith) Stelzer of The Dalles, OR; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Emily, Cody, Noah, Sydney, Matthew and Luke; two great grandchildren, Isabella Grace and Judah, and one more due in May; and by sisters, Betty Wood and Verna Lay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie; and a sister, Gladys Thompson. Glenn volunteered for years with the Church of the Roses Montgomery HS breakfast ministry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to this ministry in Glenn's memory. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Church of the Roses, 2500 Patio Court, Santa Rosa, California. Daniels Chapel of the Roses 707-525-3730
