Our much loved mother, "Gma", neighbor, and friend, Barbara "Bobbie" Morrison Jackson, died peacefully at home on February 9th surrounded by her family. She was 82 years old. Barbara was born October 30, 1931, in Reno, Nevada, daughter of Gibson King "Buzz" and Mae Nevada Morrison. She was a Reno High School graduate, class of 1949. She met her husband Don at Lake Tahoe and they were married in 1950. Having five children in seven years kept them busy for the next 25 when they moved to Forestville. It was here they retired to their happy place in beautiful Sonoma County. Bobbie was a Mom remembered for sewing beautiful dresses from drapery fabric, trying exotic foods, giving hitch-hikers rides, and answering questions with her famous line, "Let's look it up!" She was a creative and gifted artist, and generous woman who always made a place at her table for whomever her children or grandchildren brought home. She volunteered her time to numerous organizations including Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, County of Sonoma, local PBS channel 22, the Sonoma County Museum, Forestville Citizens for Sensible Growth, Senior Peer counselors, and as a poll worker here in Forestville. She and Don were active in the PG&E Reddy Rovers and other RV groups. Barbara was predeceased in 2012 by her husband of 61 years Donald Jackson. She is survived by step-sister Donna Derico, son Michael Jackson (Dawn), daughters Susan Savage(Steve), Rebecca Eddy, Sheryl Wolfe(Phil), and Peggy Irvin, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and her dog companion Checkers. She will be missed by many friends and extended family. Services will be held on March 15th at 2 p.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY, 301 S. Main St., Sebastopol. A reception to celebrate her life will follow. Bobbie would love it if you could wear something blue in memory of her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forestville Youth Park at forestvilleyouthpark.org.
