Died Monday, February 17, 2014 in Santa Rosa, CA. Loving wife for 57 years of the late Donald Oliver Ameral. Loving mother of Shareise Ameral of Sebastopol, Sabrina Theiller and husband Rudy of Santa Rosa, Kevin Ameral of Santa Rosa and Shana Ameral-Booth and husband Rod of Sebastopol. Beloved grandmother of Tiffinee, Jasmine, Andres and Brianna. Great grandmother of Zoe, Lily and Gabriel. Also survived by two sisters, Kathleen and Imagene and numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Waldron, Arkansas, age 76 years. Shirley was a graduate of Analy High School class of 1954. She attended Santa Rosa Junior College and at the age of 50 learned Kung Fu. She was active in tennis all of her life and was a member of the U.S. Tennis Association and she encouraged and coached her children in tennis. Shirley loved to organic garden and organic cook. In the early 1940s her family moved from Arkansas to Martinez, CA. After the war they moved to Graton, CA and then to Sebastopol where she met the love of her life, Donald, in 1954. Not a school day passed that she wouldn't pack a lunch for each of her four children. Shirley was proud of her lineage of Cherokee on her maternal grandmother's side and her grandparents on her paternal side immigrating to Massachusetts from England. "Mom never lied to us children" and always followed the rules and encouraged her children to do so, "explicitly". " We love you Mom".
