Whip went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his home in Santa Rosa. Whip was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Howard and Gladys Dedrick who preceded in death. His brother Harold, his sisters Gladys and Carolyn also preceded him in death. He was a loving husband and enjoyed 51 3/4 years of marriage to his loving wife, Dorothy. He was a wonderful father to sons Darnell and Tyrone; daughter, Robin; three grandchildren, Ochai, Tavaughn and Dominick, and one great grandson, Jax. He is survived by his brothers Howard, Charles, and Ron, sister Joyce, his sweet mother in law Corinne Edwards, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Whip loved carpentry, and was amazing at building things with his hands and always shared his vast knowledge in many areas of life with more people than one could ever imagine. He will be missed by many. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service celebrating Whip's life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Eggen & Lance Chapel, 1540 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa.
