Devoted wife and beloved mother, Jeanne Gloria Scott passed away peacefully at her home in Petaluma on Monday, April 21, 2014. Age, 90 years. Jeanne was born March 13, 1924 in St. Paul, MN to Walter and Helen Nelson. Jeanne and her family moved to San Francisco, CA in the 1930s. As a young girl Jeanne took dance lessons and by the late 30s she was a glamorous "Show Girl" at the famous Copa Cabana. In 1943 Jeanne married the love of her life, nightclub owner Wallace Scott. The couple moved to a ranch in Novato, CA where they enjoyed many years together. Jeanne eventually opened "Jeanne Scott's Dance Studio" and would teach dance for 20 years. Jeanne and Wallace were an exciting, glamorous couple. They were quite a pair the "Dancer and the Cowboy". After having children, selling the ranch and relocating a number of times, they retired to Reno, NV where Jeanne and Wallace lived happily for 30 years. Jeanne took up painting in her 60s and was very active with the Nevada Art Association. Following her husband's death she moved to Petaluma to be closer to family. Jeanne is survived by children Randy Scott, Petaluma, CA and Jill (Brad) Scott Enerson, Clinton, CT; grandchildren Heston Scott, Landon Scott and David Enerson. Nieces and nephews Craig, Heidi, Joy, Kim, Timothy and Susan. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace, parents Walter and Helen Nelson, siblings James Nelson and Lois Sutter, and her beloved dog Annie. Jeanne was a creative, talented, independent woman who exuded charisma, charm and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
