After a short and fierce battle with cancer, Lynn passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on the evening of April 20, 2014. Lynn was born on September 3, 1955, to Terry and Pat Abrams. She attended high school in Pleasanton before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education at San Jose State University. After receiving her teaching credential at San Diego State University, she taught adapted physical education in Modesto and elementary physical education in San Luis Obispo. Everywhere she worked, she earned a reputation for her skillful instruction, empathetic heart, and jocular irreverence. In 1987, Lynn married Doug Osborn, and they made their home in Santa Rosa. After the birth of their daughters, Caroline and Emily Osborn, Lynn became a full-time mother. Her exuberant spirit, tireless sense of humor, gentle honesty, and deep wells of wisdom and compassion made her an exceptional parent. A lifelong reader, Lynn organized a book club with her close friends. She loved to laugh and dance; her car stereo was either tuned to the comedy stations or blasting upbeat rock music. Her chocolate chip cookies and Caesar salads were legendary. Lynn is survived by her husband and two daughters; her mother, Terry Abrams; her sister, Annette Mala Abrams; and her brother, Kirby Abrams. A gathering in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014: location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn's honor can be made to the Women's Justice Center, P.O. Box 7510, Santa Rosa, CA 95407 or online at justicewomen.com. DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES 707-525-3730
