Died April 29, 2014 peacefully at the ripe young age of 94! Born on a farm in Minnesota March 29, 1920, the family moved to Los Angeles in 1930. He joined Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in 1937 until he went into the Army Air Corps for World War II. He served in the South Pacific and returned to Los Angeles to rejoin Pacific Telephone and Telegraph. In 1945 he married Carol McCann and in 1956 they moved with their three daughters to Santa Rosa California where he continued to work for the Telephone Company. Carol passed away in 1968. He then married Toby Kipps in 1969 and he became a stepfather to her two young sons. They moved to Sebastopol in 1977. He retired from what was now AT&T after 41 years and enjoyed 32 years of retirement. Toby passed away in 2007 and then he moved to the Lodge at Paulin Creek. At the Lodge he lived his final active years amidst new friends and new interests like calling bingo, playing rummy cube and trivia. He passed April 29, 2014. He is survived by his three loving daughters Donna, Lynda, and Teresa and his two wonderful stepsons Mark and Kevin Kipps as well as four grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held May 18 at 2 p.m. at the Lodge at Paulin Creek, 2375 Range Ave. Santa Rosa California. Santa Rosa Mortuary Eggen & Lance Chapel, 545-3747.
