It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eve Romero on July 20. Her loving family was by her side when she passed. She is survived by her two children John F. Romero (Chenin) and Marilyn Heller (Bob), four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Eve was born in 1921 in Venice, California and later her family moved to Chico. As a young girl she became smitten with the movies and spent some of her summers gathering autographs and taking pictures of the parade of movie-stars who visited and made movies at MGM. She enjoyed all types of movies but especially musicals and musical scores. In high school she was in the choir and sang as a contralto and was invited to a national singing competition in her senior year. It was in high school that she met and later married her husband John (who passed away almost three years ago) they settled in Santa Rosa in 1950. Always active and busy she volunteered for 10 years at Memorial Hospital as a Rose Lady. Eve had many things she enjoyed doing. She was a voracious reader, relished going to see plays and musicals (over 192 in her lifetime) from here to New York and even in London. She seemed to always be gardening and creating beauty through color with her planting and landscaping. She liked entertaining and her parties at Christmas time, 4th of July, and other occasions were not to be missed. Some would even say she was the "Hostess with the mostess". In her later years she always looked forward to spending time with her friends and gathering with them at Wild Oak Saddle Club or visiting them at their homes. What Eve loved the most though, was her family and doing for them whatever she could to help and support them. A quote from one of her favorite writers (Judith McNaught) says it the best: "Some people feel love in their hearts. Some of us feel it all way into our souls." She will be missed. Per Eve's request, no public services will be held. There will be a viewing at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa 525-3730 on Thursday July 24th from 3-8pm. In lieu of flowers please make all donations to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice. DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES 707-525-3730
