Passed away in Santa Rosa on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the age of 67. Born and raised in San Francisco, he was a resident of Sonoma County for the past 36 years. Gary is lovingly survived by his wife Susan Silvester of Rohnert Park; children Michelle (Dan) Hickman of Calistoga, Matthew Silvester (and finance Jessica) of South San Francisco, and Nicole Silvester of Rohnert Park; grandchildren Victoria Hickman and Alexander Hickman, both of Calistoga. He also leaves his brother Dennis (Judy) Silvester and many nieces, nephews and cousins. For 35 years, he was a Letter Carrier for the U.S.P.S. Gary served in the United States Army as a member of the Military Police in Vietnam. He also loved sports, and was a faithful 49er and Giants fan. He will be missed by family and friends. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service celebrating Gary's life on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. Interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
