25 years old, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Michael spent his childhood in Guerneville, with his mother and five siblings; he proudly graduated SCOE SELPA of Sonoma County in 2006, going on to work three and a half years for Long's /CVS Drug Store. Michael was a very hard working young man who took a great deal of pride in his job. Michael loved all of his family greatly, with a special affection for all of his nephews and nieces, he was a beautiful person with a great sense of honor, respect, zest for life, and "any food seasoned with love". Michael is survived by his mother, Kathleen Avina; and siblings Maria and Tom Pettid, Martha Avina, Maggie and Juan Pulido, Jesus Avina, David Avina, six nephews and eight nieces numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., Ragle Ranch Park, Sebastopol. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Michael Avina Fund", a memorial fund established at Wells Fargo Bank (opened by Maria Pettid).
