Passed away peacefully on April 22, 2010 at Olive Ridge Care Center in Oroville, Ca. at the age of 90. Esther was born Nov. 11, 1919 in Nelson, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her daughter Catherine (Cathy) Bataeff, her parents Carl and Daisy Madsen, her brothers Howard and Carl Madsen, and sisters Helen Moyle and Vivian Normi. Esther graduated from Petaluma High School in 1937. She went to work after high school for Sanderson Motor Co., then worked for the Leader, Weller Hopkins Furniture and Jameson Trucking. Her last employer was Fostmeier Construction in Santa Rosa where she worked as their bookkeeper for 15 years before retiring in 1981. She then went to work, part time for the Petaluma Moose Lodge for 20 years, until she retired again, Sept. '09 due to poor eyesight. She and her husband Mac helped organize the Moose RV Club. Mac was the Moose's volunteer bartender and Esther was their "waitress" during Moose events. Esther and Mac traveled a great deal with their 5th wheel. They enjoyed fishing and camping. She and Mac were married for 62 years, and Mac passed away in 2001. They sold their family home in Penngrove and spent their last years together living in Rancho Grande Mobile Home Park in Rohnert Park. Esther is survived by her son Richard; son-in-law George Bataeff; her grandchildren: Janice Vipond (Ron), Gary McClintock (Patrice), Shari Golden (Eric); her great grand children: Danielle Vipond, AJ Vipond, Shelby McClintock, Nikki McClintock; and great great grandson Kasen Logan Sickles. Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday April 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11AM at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY AND CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St. Petaluma, 763-4131
