Ed Lott, 62, of Healdsburg passed away on August 18 of complications from a stroke. Ed was a man for all seasons. A resident of Healdsburg since 1994, Ed and his wife Betsy are well known throughout Healdsburg social and professional circles. Ed, in fact, is known as the "Man about Town." His cultural skills are reflected in his award-winning amateur wines and reputation as the King of BBQ and Chili, while his professional skills contributed to the success of NASA and the Apollo guidance system. Ed was also coach of the Healdsburg High School track team for eight years, sharing his leadership and humor with many young people. In addition to his loving wife, Ed is survived by his son, Edward, Jr. and wife Shannon Lott of Washington; brothers Norman (Joan) Lott and Robert (Lori) Lott and sister Nancy (Scott) Parker of California. He was preceded by his mother Wilma Lott and sister Marilyn Keitelman. Ed is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, together with his brother-in-law Bud (Kim) Modersbach of California, and a great many friends. A celebration of Ed's life will be held on September 11, 2010, from 12-4 p.m. at the Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, buy local Healdsburg wines, or contribute to the charity of your choice.
