REYNOLDS,George George Reynolds passed away in his Petaluma residence on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 surrounded by his devoted family. He was born in Bennington, Vermont on August 12, 1927. George was next to the youngest of nine children and the son of the late Charlotte "Bessie" and Leon A. Reynolds. He was reared in Bennington until the death of his mother in May, 1937 and then moved to Glens Falls, NY in September 1937 and was raised by his grandmother, the late Louise Reynolds, who passed away in 1938, then went to live with his aunts Hazel and Adelaide Reynolds until October 1945. He was then drafted into the US Army and he made a career for twenty years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant E8. He was most fortunate to be stationed at Two Rock Ranch Station after each oversea assignment to Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Asmara, Eritria in Eastern Africa, when Two Rock was an Army Installation. George met his wife Mary Pierini while stationed at Two Rock and married in October 1952. They have two children: Oletha "Lea" Reynolds Coffman and her husband Gary of Rohnert Park, and Bruce Michael Reynolds of San Jose, CA. He is the grandfather of Jill Coffman Zschach, Chris Coffman, B. Michael Reynolds, and Taylor Reynolds. Great-grandfather of Rachael Zschach, Craig Zschach, Hannah Coffman, and Amber Coffman. Survived by several nieces and nephews. After he retired from the Army he was employed at Optical Coating Laboratory for over 25 years. He was also a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a member of SIRS #100. A Vigil will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Private Entombment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 in his memory.
