Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Richard "Dick" is survived by his wife Mary Peterson, Santa Rosa, his son Richard G. Peterson, Santa Rosa, his daughter Marjorie Stornetta and son-in-law Michael J. Stornetta, Santa Rosa. Dick Peterson is also survived by three grand-children, Michael T. Stornetta, Windsor, Christopher Peterson and Sarah Peterson, Petaluma. Dick was born on September 2, 1930 in Chicago. Dick was a sailor in the US Navy. He was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Santa Rosa in 1952 after returning from the war in Korea when met his wife Mary. They enjoyed 60 years together and were somewhat famous for their parties and social events. Dick was the manager of Leed's shoe store in Coddingtown in the 1960's. Dick then took a leap of faith and opened his own business, which became very successful, selling manufactured homes. Dick was also a member of the Santa Rosa Rotary club for many years, and loved betting on the ponies at the Sonoma County Fair. After retirement, Dick worked at Kendall Jackson in their hospitality department. Dick had a passion for gardening and landscaping his home in Fulton where he also raised sheep. Dick was a kind and generous man and loved his family. Dick was known for his bright blue eyes and incredible sense of humor. He will be missed and is loved by all. Services will be held on Saturday, November 10 at Santa Rosa Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.
