Passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on November 30, 2012. He was born in San Francisco to Archpriest Vladimir and Maria Sakovich. He moved to Penngrove in 1964 where he took great pleasure in growing many varieties of apples, including his favorite, the Hawaii. He was the husband of the late Margaret Fergusson Sakovich. He is survived by his daughter Maria Sakovich of Berkeley, his daughter Joanna and son-in-law Scott Tilley of Virginia, his granddaughter Andrea Margaret and grandson-in-law Isaac Wright and great grandson J.J., all of Virginia, and his sister Helen Dobson of San Francisco. He was a lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Parish in San Francisco and honorary lifetime member of the St. Mary's Orthodox Parish in Santa Rosa. He was a naval veteran of World War II and was proud to be an honorary member of the Marinwood Fire Department. The funeral service was held on Monday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Seraphim's Orthodox Church in Santa Rosa. There will be a memorial liturgy on Tuesday, December 4 at 9:30 also at St. Seraphims followed by a graveside service at the Serbian Cemetery in Colma at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks for prayers.
