Barbara passed through the light and into the arms of her savior on Jan. 8 at 12:30 p.m. Surrounded by her husband and two daughters. She was a beacon in the storm of life for many. Working in the school systems at Santa Rosa, Sonoma County and a short time in Lake County. She worked as an honored classified employee and teachers assistant with special needs children and as health technician at El Molino High School where her door was always open as was her heart to those that needed her. She was proud to have been a certified Nurse Assistant, working to help others once again putting others above self. She volunteered at St. Helena Hospital in Clearlake and taught English as a volunteer in Lake County. A caring and loving individual who spent her life serving others and not wanting to be the center of attention. She loved all she met completely and was a servant to many, touching many lives along the way. She was proud of her EMT Certification and loved putting into practice her many skills in this field of work. She came from Germany with her mother when just a child and settled in Petaluma with her parents. Schooled in Petaluma and was proud to have gone to Petaluma High School. Barbara was an outstanding cook, loving her gardens and all that she nurtured and grew, from flowers to her veggies. She took great pride in being a housewife, caring for and raising her children and supporting her husband in his endeavors. Her homes were a showpiece of excellence and beauty and her yards showed the loving touch of someone that truly was appreciative of what they had in life. She danced and laughed and smiled everywhere she went. Her smile was infectious as anyone can attest to. To look into her beautiful brown eyes and see the love coming back at you was amazing. Her love of all things living was a blessing to those she knew. It was her husband, children, grandchildren and family that she lived for and loved the most. She relished each and every moment spent with her family and will be greatly missed. She loved to travel and see the many wonders of this world, never tiring of seeing something new and wondrous. Winter was her hibernation time, a time she loved for reading one of the many books she had or just snuggling with her husband. She loved spring because it was planting time, bringing new life to her garden and yards. Summer for basking in the sun and being anywhere there was water around her, picnicking and family time spent with her loved ones. Fall for the beauty of the changing colors. She will be missed by those left behind including her husband John W Polley. Daughters Sharon Lee Williamson (John) and Angela Christy Villaluna (Joe). Her grandchildren Joseph John David, Benjamin Paul Lee and Emmalee Rose Williamson, Katrina Marie and Devin Ray Villaluna. Her stepson Dustin Polley. She is survived by her brothers Michael and Kevin Popejoy. Many nephews and nieces, brother-in-laws and their wives the "outlaws" and her sister-in-law, remembering that they were considered just brothers and sister to her.
