In Sonoma Concetta "Connie" I. Mangiantini, passed peacefully away on April 20, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was 88. The loving wife of the late Ernest (Ernie) J. Mangiantini. Connie was a Sonoma resident since 1947 and was a native of Easton, Pennsylvania, born to Carmelo and Lucia Cianci on December 2, 1924. She was the first woman letter carrier in Sonoma and worked for the postal service for 22 years. She was member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and was proprietor, with her late husband, of the Pioneer French Bakery and Ernesto's Bakery. In 1946 she worked at Terminal Island Naval Shipyard in San Pedro, CA as a secretary assigned to the Atom Bomb Mission called Bikini Altoll Mission where she typed 100 words per minute. Connie was the loving mother of: Theresa Rivera of Rio Dell, Rose Carey (Dave) of Sonoma, Ernestine Billigmeier of Sonoma, Michael Mangiantini (Kathy) of Rio Dell, John Mangiantini (Jennifer) of Sonoma and Daniel Mangiantini of Sonoma. She was the loving grandmother of James Carey (Kristal), Robert Carey, Christina Senn (Matt), Jennea Priestley (John), Kelly Mangiantini, Shelley Petracek (Don), Kim Olson; the loving great-grandmother of Jason Carey, Justin and Ella Senn, Wyatt and Jonas Priestley, Miriam, Alex and Destiny Patracek, Heather, Brianna, and Christopher Olson; loving sister-in-law of Ezio and Julie Mangiantini, Louise Mangiantini; loving aunt of Lucille Lawrence (Neal) of PA, Gina Aven (Ephrayim); loving great-aunt to Sean Lawrence, Elin and Ezio Aven; loving cousin to many on the east and west coasts and in Italy; a loving friend to many in Sonoma. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Francis Solano Church, 469 Third Street West, Sonoma, CA 95476, on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. and a Visitation on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a Vigil will follow at 5:00 p.m. Interment at St. Francis Cemetery following the Mass. Duggan's Mission Chapel 525 West NapaStreet, Sonoma, CA.
