Passed away at home on September 30, 2013 at the age of 92. He is survived by Ileen, his wife of 63 years; daughters Kathy (Jim) Ferrol of Santa Rosa and Doreen (Dave) Landes of San Diego; three grandchildren, Heather, Justin and Andrew Ferrol; and numerous nieces and nephews. Min was born in Santa Rosa at Fountain Grove in 1920 where he spent his childhood years. After graduating from Santa Rosa High School he worked at Fountain Grove Winery. When WWII began Min was interned at Granada Relocation Center in Amache, Colorado. While interned he joined the US Army and was a member of the famous 442nd "Go For Broke" unit. He was wounded in Italy, received a medical discharge and a purple heart. After the war he returned to Santa Rosa and worked for soft drink bottling companies; Coca-Cola and RC Cola. After retirement he spent his time watching the Giants, A's, 49ers, and Raiders. He loved fishing, gardening, playing with his dogs and spending time with his family. In 2012, he was a recipient of a special Congressional Gold Medal awarded to members of the 442nd unit. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and constant smile. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Enmanji Buddhist Temple, 1200 Gravenstein Hwy. South, Sebastopol, CA.
