Age 87, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2013. He was born in Provo, Utah on December 24, 1925, a son of LeRoy and Christie (Sabey) Durrant, Sr. He is survived by two children, Jack Durrant and Carla (Joseph) Swicegood; two sisters, Sherrie (Don) Francis and Colleen Martain; ten grand-children; and 19 great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy; two sons, Steven and Michael Durrant; two sisters, Vernita Durrant Oldham, and Carma (Keith) Vincent; three brothers, Dwayne Keith, Gene, and Judd Durrant; and a grandson, Jack Durrant, Jr. LeRoy served his country in the Navy, and was very proud of being a World War II veteran. He worked in construction as a steamfitter for 40 years. LeRoy loved old country music. He is remembered as the best story-teller, harmonica player, singer and dancer. He was a loving father and grandfather, who put the 'grand' in grandpa. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, CA. Memorials may be made to Hospice by the Bay.
