Travis TIFFIN Obituary

TIFFIN, Travis Keenan We say goodbye to our friend, Travis Keenan Tiffin. Travis passed on November 22, 2015 after blessing his family and friends with a life of laughter, creativity, generosity and love. He was born November 12, 1967 in San Jose, CA and, after being introduced at a young age to the world of history, literature, and travel, was compelled to seek out new places and experiences. Travis lived at different periods of his life in Southern California, England, Tennessee, Maui, Oregon, New York, and Northern California. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Le Donne; her boys, Cade and Reece Stan; his parents, Gary and Pat Tiffin; sister, Lisa Owen (Jim); brother, Trevor Tiffin (Tiffaney); two nephews; three aunts; parents-in-love, Gary and Patty Le Donne; many cousins, and oh-so-many friends. Travis was an artist in the highest sense of the word - whatever he touched turned to art. It could be a paintbrush, computer mouse, pencil, groceries, or gardening tools; his eyes saw the details and wonders in everything, and his hands brought unmatched beauty into the world. Travis had a passion for live music and attended over 400 concerts. Nothing pleased him more than The Alarm, Journey, U2, Van Halen and all other "rockers" who lit up the 80's with their screaming guitars and bad hair. He also had broad and varied musical tastes, and collected over 10,000 songs from every genre and era. He devoured fantasy stories and science fiction and was forever changed by a place called Narnia and a movie called Star Wars. He never lost his childlike desire to enter and explore another world, especially if it included a redemptive arc where the darkest characters find their way to the light once more. He was a latecomer to baseball, but dating Lisa in 2010 was enough to convince nearly anyone to become a Giants fan and his last five years were filled with a passion nearly matching his wife's. He fully expected them to go on winning championships every even year for the rest of his life, and they did. Although he ran with the bulls, explored castles, climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa, tramped around Stonehenge, hiked Machu Picchu and the Himalayas, his soul was "home" when he moved to Maui. The only thing that kept him from returning was that his heart belonged to Lisa Le Donne and where she was, he needed to be. They re-met on Facebook in 2010 after attending Pacific Christian College together in the 80's and from that moment, until his passing, never paused in their very deep, intellectual and progressive discussions on history, politics, religion, music, literature, film and baseball. They were married on Thanksgiving, 2014 and fell just short of their first anniversary. A celebration of life, for our favorite Jeditiffin, will be held on January 16th, 2015 in Santa Rosa, California with details TBD. Please plan on wearing your favorite jeans, most comfortable shoes, and whatever baseball, rock band or Star Wars shirt you love most. He wouldn't have it any other way. In lieu of flowers he would have loved for you to give your money to the next homeless guy you meet or better yet, pick him up and share a meal with him.

When we connected at PCC we became close friends. He wanted to take art classes and I encouraged him to. He painted a large picture of me in the clouds with Aslan. I am so happy he found love and joy.

My heart & my prayers go out to the Tiffan Family. I have such great memories of Travis while attending PCC. He always had a smile on his face & a shine coming from his heart & soul! He really loved the Lord with all his heart!! He is home now & walked right into Jesus's open arms that were waiting for him! He is no longer in pain but feels total peace & God's ever lasting love. This is what I pray for all the Tiffan Family. That God will wrap His loving arms around each one of you & fill you with His everlasting love & peace & be rest assured that Travis is just fine & is happy up in Heaven with Jesus!! He would not want you to mourn for him but to celebrate & rejoice.....for he is Home in His Father's house!!! Amen!

Travis is my brother, my ex roommate, my friend, and my fellow partner at the time, trying to figure out this test called life.
Travis and I had many things in common and that also included the trials and tribulations of finding love and acknowledging our greatness hahaha!
I loved Travis, and vice versa.
We were kindred spirits(my humble opinion) and I always enjoyed our deep conversations and he was so willing to learn about himself and move forward in his life. He was always great in my eyes and I always saw him as a brilliant artist, but his greatest strength was his spirit and his strength.
And yet he was so humble, almost to the point of sabotaging his success, which he worked on as long as I knew him.
And I loved our time discussing and watching Star Wars multiple times!
Travis gave me the courage to continue to move forward, as he always did, and his courage and desire to move forward was an inspiration to me.
I've gone through a lot in my life, and Travis was one of the many souls who invaded my life in a wonderful, fun, silly, sad, happy, thoughtful, emotional way, and I will always love him.
And now, I just wonder in awe with what his new art canvas will be up there!
Free with no limits, wow, I BET he is smiling from ear to ear and laughing at the possibilities of his new surroundings...and yet, he's back home.
I love you Travis!
Always.

To the Tiffin family, be proud, for your son has left a legacy and has touched the hearts of many in such a good way!
Surely, my God looks at his life and was quite pleased.
God Speed Travis, I'll see you soon.

What a truly special and memorable guy was Travis! I hadn't seen him for years, yet I can still hear him. All I can think of "It is the brightest lights which burn the fastest." This is such a loss for so many, and the whole world in all honesty. You all have my sympathy and love. RIP Trav.

Beautiful and heartfelt description of a man who lived life to the fullest. Such an inspiration to those who's lives he touched. A beautiful man who left a mark on so many. Will absolutely reach a hand out to someone who needs a boost in your living memory. Shine on in all the hearts you touched!

Such a beautiful tribute to Travis and all of who he was. I met him on his journey to Tennessee and early years in California. We had some great deep conversations and shared a love for art. I was one of I'm sure many recipients of books being passed on. He just could not not share the books he loved and put them into someone else's hands so that their lives could be transformed too. He poured so much passion into all he did. While I haven't seen him in probably 20 years, he will be forever etched in my mind and heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.I will be celebrating him with you but in spirit.

Travis was a wonderful friend. We were thicker than thieves through high school until life took us down different paths. We rocked out to all the "hair bands" and many more in the 80's. Travis has always and will always have a special place in my heart. I know he is free from the body that was failing him and for that, I'm grateful. For his wife and family, and even myself, I'm heartbroken and sad. But we honor Travis by moving forward and living our lives with the same zeal he lived his. Aloha Travis!
