KLINE, JOHN BLANDING 66 - of Atlantic City (formerly of Mays Landing) passed away at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City-Campus. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he spent most of his adult life living and working in Atlantic County. After completing auto body training in vocational school in Philadelphia, John served his country honorably in the United States Navy. John had a long history of employ-ment, he worked for the electric company in Philadelphia, sold sporting goods in a local department store, was part owner in a local coin and gold shop, worked as a craps dealer in Atlantic City, and as a construction laborer, but he was most proud of his many years in service to his community with the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, first as a Correction Officer and later as a Sheriff's Officer. During his service as an Atlantic County Sheriff's Officer he was a field training officer to new police academy graduates, a judge's court officer, a patrol officer, a long distance prisoner transportation officer and a detective assigned to the fugitive squad. He was a member of Policeman's Benevolent Association, Local 243. John was also an avid Phillies fan. Friends are invited to come and stand as his family at graveside services at 1pm on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Atlantic County Veteran's Cemetery, Route 50 Estell Manor, N.J. Arrangements are by Boakes Funeral Home 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ.
