HOBBS, KHADIJAH W. 33 - of Egg Harbor Township, passed away suddenly on Friday night, February 8, 2013 at the Shore Memorial Hospital, in Somers Point. "Dee-chee" as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was born in San Clemente, California, and came to Atlantic City with her parents, Chris and Nzingha (Robin) and sister Zakiyyah, in 1983. Dee-chee attended the Atlantic City public school system, graduating from Atlantic City High School class of 1997. She also attended the Atlantic County Vocational School and received certification in Management Information Systems, graduating in 1997. Dee-chee attended the Casino Dealer School in 1998, where she became licensed to deal all casino games, securing her first job at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino. After 3 years, Dee-chee moved on to the Sands Hotel & Casino as a Casino Dealer until the casino closed. Dee-chee was lastly employed at the Borgata Hotel & Casino, where she opened the new casino, as one of the first hired Casino Dealers. Cherishing her fond memories are: her Son, Khadri Hobbs-Reed; her Parents: Nzingha and Taiwa Ukawabutu, all of EHT, NJ; one Sister, Zakiyyah Hobbs, of Nevada; one Brother, Christian Hobbs, of Atlantic City, NJ; two Step-Sisters, Carlesha and Jahnesha Curry, of Georgia; a second Mother and Special Friend, Gloria Reed, and a Special Comp-anion, Terry "X" Davis; many close Nieces and Nephews, and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at St. James A.M.E. Church, located at the corner of New York and Arctic Aves, Atlantic City, NJ. Interment will follow the service, at Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, NJ. Final arrangements entrusted to Mikals Funeral Parlor, LLC, located at 30 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ.
